DOCKING STATION 3927

EXPLORING THE REAL STREETS OF BELFAST

GASWORKS STATION 3927

This docking station is well located for anyone wishing to cycle along the Lagan Towpath.

The highly recommended eleven mile long [they still use miles in Belfast and the rest of the UK] Lagan Towpath takes the walker or cyclist along the river and canal system through a variety of wetland, riverside meadows and mixed woodland from Belfast to Lisburn.

I like walking along the city sections of the Lagan Towpath but I do advise caution if you do visit as some of the cyclists are inconsiderate or even very aggressive. This has been an ongoing problem of which the local police are aware of since 2010.

If you examine this series of photographs of Docking Station 3927 you can see that four bikes are not docked and while one may argue that this was a one off example it was not as I saw many similar examples and based on a three day visit I would suggest that the bicycles are not redistributed with appropriate frequency.
