SAURIAN RED DRAGON IN LEE FIELDS CORK BY JIM BUCKLEY
There is a type of metal sculpture that I refer to as “Red Metal Things” and there are many of them throughout Ireland but this one makes more sense than most as it is fairly obvious that it is a dragon. It is known as Saurian and it is by Jim Buckley.
Jim Buckley was born in Cork in 1957, and attended the Crawford School of Art 1975-80,studying sculpture under John Burke. In his early work, he used 'found' steel.
