These photographs were taken back in June 2014. I had booked a week at the ETAP on the Dublin Road and the price was low compared with any of the IBIS [a sister business] hotels in Belfast. After two nights I decided to relocated at great cost to the Europa as I could net any sleep because of noise from within the hotel, noise from Filhty McNastys pub/nightclub and because of ongoing anti-social behaviour in the immediate area. Two of my photographs show what appears to be an unfinished carpark but it was one source of anti-social activity.

I should mention that I stayed in an IBIS hotel, in the city centre, in 2013 and 2012 and encountered some street noise issues but the problems did not continue past midnight.

After my 2014 visit to Belfast I promised my self that I would never again book a low cost "budget hotel", especially one with a night club attached. One lesson I have learned is that if reviews, no matter how good, mention noise then it is best to avoid the hotel especially at weekends [Thursday through to Sunday] assuming that you are not planning to be the source of the noise.
