RELIGIOUS STATUE AT ST PATRICKS CHURCH THORNCASTLE STREET

Ringsend is served by St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, on Thorncastle Street, building began in 1858 and it was opened in 1859 by Archbishop Cullen, the parish was constituted in 1905 from Sandymount. St. Mathews Church of Ireland church in Irishtown (originally built between 1704-06), which is in union with Donnybrook parish serves the Ringsend area.

There was a Methodist Chapel in Ringsend first built in 1840, a replacement chapel was built in 1904. The congregation declined and it closed in 1961. The building was demolished and redeveloped. The World War One memorial was moved to the united methodist and presbyterian, Christ Church in Sandymount.
