In December 2021 the first phase of the long-awaited Marina Park opened to the public. I visited the area in August 2021 but could not gain access as it was still an active building site.

When I visited Cork in August 2021 my activities were very much constrained because of Covid-19 restrictions. The transport service was much diminished and undependable and it rained most of the time. My Sony 70-200 lens became detached from the camera body onto the seat of the bus and malfunctioned at random during most of the visit. The end result was that I ended up with a lot of unusable photographs and I did not have the time or energy to process them.
