The Crow's Nest Bar and Restaurant was destroyed by a fire in February 2004. I have photographs of the derelict site and will publish them later.

I am not sure when, but An Bord Pleanala granted planning permission to University College Cork for the construction of a purpose built student accommodation complex at the former Crow’s Nest site, located approximately 1.5km west of Cork City Centre at the junction of Carrigrohane Road and Victoria Cross. The development, which qualifies as a Strategic Housing Development under the recent Planning and Development (Strategic Housing Development) Act 2017, will provide 255 no. dedicated student bedspaces as well as ancillary student support facilities, a state of the art healthcare/wellness centre and a commercial/café at ground floor level.
