LAST DAYS AT THE TIVOLI CAR PARK

LAST DAYS AT THE TIVOLI

I used a Zeiss Batis 25mm lens and as I had to shoot from many rather awkward angles and locations some of the images are somewhat distorted.

Over the last few years the quality of Street Art in Dublin has been decline and is being replaced by a commercial form of street art.

The Tivoli Theatre and Car Park is to be demolished to make room for a hotel but in order to obtain planning approval the developer is obliged to preserve the street art and graffiti associated with the current site. The developer has been instructed to preserve the graffiti art contained within the site by photographic record which should be undertaken by a professional photographer and then submitted to the city council for distribution to public libraries [I think that this is a bit pointless].

The Tivoli complex in the Liberties area is being replaced by a five-storey, 289-bed hotel-apartment complex. There will be some restaurants, a gymnasium, bike rental shop and a cultural venue.
